With swarms of patriotic fans expected to venture into local pubs to watch the 2018 FIFA World Cup games next month, pub landlords, Front of House Managers and chefs are being urged to have bar and catering equipment serviced to avoid breakdowns.

The World Cup tournament which is held every four years, kicks off this year with hosts Russia playing Saudi Arabia on Thursday 14^th June. Football fans will flock to their local pubs and bars to watch the games, many of whom will cash in on the event by screening the games live. Besides bar equipment, bottle coolers and refrigeration, all warewashing equipment, kitchen extraction and prime cooking equipment needs to be fully serviced in preparation. In doing so landlords, Front of House Managers and Catering Supervisors can rest assured their equipment will support the next few months of increased trade.

Mike Nixon, Sales Manager at Abraxas explains, "The Word Cup is a very exciting time for those in the licensed trade business. Statistics from previous tournaments suggest that around 14.8m of us in the UK will head to the pub to watch a football game. On average we'll stay for at least three hours each game during which time we'll no doubt drink from the bar and many of us are likely to have a bite to eat too!

"It is essential that pubs are prepared for the World Cup. Pubs need to ensure all bar and prime cooking equipment has been serviced so it can cope with the increase in demand. If not, theres the risk of breakdowns and landlords will have to face the wrath of unhappy football fans who will find alternative watering holes in which to watch the games."
