Managing Process Chillers
CAREL has introduced µChiller Process which it claims as the first compact controller for the management of process chillers with On-Off and variable-capacity BLDC compressors.
European Ecodesign regulations, and ENER Lot 21 (Regulation 2016/2281 of the European Commission, in particular, define new efficiency and performance requirements for process chillers.
Furthermore, connectivity of industrial machinery is becoming an increasingly widespread trend, also following current restrictions on mobility due to the pandemic: a situation that will further drive the growth of IoT in industry.
The µChiller Process controller combines the reliability of traditional design with innovative elements for high efficiency and connectivity so as to comply with regulations and respond to the demands of end users.
The compact dimensions of in-line chillers in production plant require similarly compact components and greater integration of functions into controllers to minimises the requirement for additional parts to be installed outside a unit.
According to CAREL, the distinctive element of μChiller Process is the control of high-efficiency units it provides by integrating the managment of electronic valves and BLDC compressors used in process applications, including hot gas bypass and managing storage tanks and backup pumps.
