To celebrate the start of the great summer getaway and its pet-friendly policies, Autogrill hosted an event for dog owners at the Secchia Ovest service station on Autostrada A1 between Milano and Bologna on 29th July.

Marketed as an "unique opportunity to enjoy a bit of fun together with your four-legged friend", In Fido’s Shoes was sponsored by animal welfare association, L'Ente Nazionale per la Protezione degli Animali (ENPA), and organised by leading pet food brand Prolife Pet with support from animal re-homing agency, PetPro.

Autogrill offers Fido Parks - designated dog areas on motorways located outside premises where it operates concessions in Italy.

These are equipped with running water and gazebos to provide shade.

Visitors to Secchia Ovest were offered a free consultation with a vet and access to a professional dog trainer, with a selection of dogs also onsite to provide non-pet owners with the 'immersive experience of trying out at first hand the excitement of adoption".
