International real estate company Ghelamco is integrating HID access control solutions with a proprietary building management system at several developments including the MIPIM award-winning Warsaw Spire.

Combining the HID Mobile Access platform with the BMS from Signal OS, a Polish PropTech software development company founded by Ghelamco, will allow facilities managers to monitor door and visitor access, CCTV, lifts and parking systems from a single user interface as part of a technology integration which will eventually include other building management systems and environmental sensors.

The first development to receive the upgrade was the 220 metre Warsaw Spire development featuring an unique hyperboloid glass façade. The Warsaw HUB, which was acquired by Google for €583 million and comprises two 130-meter towers and a third building housing two IHG Group hotels and a conference center has also received an upgrade, alongside the Ghelamco’s 202 metre Warsaw UNIT development.

The Bridge skyscraper which is scheduled to open in early 2025 will also receive the integrated solution from HID and Signal OS.

Mobile-enabled smart card readers have been installed throughout The Warsaw HUB and UNIT. At the Warsaw Spire, where physical cards are still predominately used, Bluetooth card readers from HID with NFC modules have been fitted for testing to support a phased transition to mobile access. Mobile-ready readers will also be deployed at The Bridge skyscraper development, leveraging Seos® – HID’s credentials technology.

Many of our tenants want mobile access today. Others, however, still prefer physical cards, so selecting a vendor that supports both in tandem was imperative.

Michał Nitychoruk, Ghelamco Poland communications manager, says: “Innovation is our hallmark, so we want to use the latest technology on projects. Many of our tenants want mobile access today. Others, however, still prefer physical cards, so selecting a vendor that supports both in tandem was imperative.”

Looking ahead, Ghelamco plans to enhance access control by incorporating support for digital wallets.

The developer of multiple WELL and BREEAM certified office developments has been credited with contributing to the emergence of Wola in West Warsaw as a prime business location.
