ISS Awarded DKK 2 Billion Danish FM Contract

The Danish Building and Property Agency (DBPA) has awarded ISS a seven-year DKK 2 billion (£230.46 million) contract to deliver the first phase of the government of Denmark’s ambitious integrated facility services outsourcing programme.

DBPA, which oversees the Nordic country’s property portfolio and public procurement of building projects under public-private partnerships (PPP) programmes, first advertised the contract for the delivery of catering, internal and external property maintenance, cleaning, security, waste management and support services at 162 locations throughout Denmark last year.

The agreement, which is expected to be signed on 15 April (on the expiry of a statutory cooling-off period for government contracts), will take effect from 1 October.

Announcing the award, Rasmus Brandt Lassen, DBPA Director, said:

“ISS has significant capacity in the market, and we look forward to starting a strong partnership, where we can jointly develop, improve and professionalise an area with huge potential. We work with three core benchmarks for the solution: efficiency, quality and user satisfaction.

“Together with ISS, we will take up this challenge to ensure that the public institutions can focus on their core purpose to an even greater extent.”
ISS Country Manager for Denmark, Flemming Bendt, said:
“We are pleased and proud that the Danish Building and Property Agency have chosen us as their partner, and we look forward to working with them to ensure that the conditions are right for state authority employees and their guests to be able to focus on their core tasks. At the same time, I’m thrilled that we can welcome more than 200 new colleagues who will join ISS as part of the agreement.”
