Height-adjustable Toilet
An innovative height-adjustable bracket promises to transform the experience of transferring from a wheelchair to the toilet for thousands of frail and disabled users.
Conforming to BSi standard BS 8300:2009 which sets out best practices for facilitating disability access, Pressalit Care's Select bracket offers a solution to the age-old problem of ensuring toilets in bathrooms used by people with disabilities are installed at standard wheelchair height to minimise the risk of falls.
Hand-held controls are also incorporated into the bracket's design to allow users to make minor adjustments to toilet pans-and maintain their independence and dignity.
Explaining the concept, Pressalit Care's UK Sales Manager Andrew Lowndes, said: "transferring from a wheelchair to a toilet that has been installed higher than a user's sitting position, requires significant upper-body strength and increases the risks of losing balance, falling or of a wheelchair toppling over.
"Our height-adjustable toilet bracket addresses all three dangers by providing the flexibility to position the toilet to suit the wheelchair user".
The Pressalit Care Select toilet bracket is available in a selection of contemporary colours to complement bathroom decors, and features smooth lines and surfaces with minimal slits or grooves for easy cleaning.
Supplied with a choice of electric or manual lifting options , the bracket is compatible with the manufacturer's adjustable basin brackets and integrates easily with Pressalit's "Care Plus" system featuring a horizontal track for additional flexibility.
