Launch of Social Housing Re-Use Toolkit
Groundwork London will launch a new Toolkit and Implementation Guide on bringing the social benefits of re-use to housing estates at a panel event in Hammersmith.
The Toolkit and Implementation Guide share learnings from the pioneering Repurpose project and provide practical guidance and recommendations for housing providers and residents across Europe who are interested in delivering similar services.
The resources will be launched as part of a panel event, featuring Professor Margaret Bates (President of CIWM), Julie Hill (Chair at WRAP), and Sharon Schaaf (Head of Estate Services at Hammersmith & Fulham Council), who will discuss the benefits and importance of re-use, best practice when engaging communities and other stakeholders, and the potential for greater re-use in housing estates and wider urban areas.
The panel will also discuss ways to address the current low levels of re-use in housing estates and urban areas, which Groundwork London is also exploring through suggested policy changes and key recommendations in its forthcoming Policy Pack.
Those who cannot attend the event are encouraged to watch the panel discussion live online - the link will be available on the event page from Monday.
We will be taking questions via Twitter using the hashtag #RepurposeLDN.
