Norton Rose Fulbright Partner Joins CREW UK Board
Leading commercial real estate finance lawyer Jennie Dorsaint has been appointed to the board of the associate organisation of the Commercial Real Estate Women Network (CREW) in the United Kingdom.
A partner at global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright, Dorsaint joins fello board members Siobhan Godley of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, Rebecca Davison of Howard Kennedy, Kathryn Harrison-Thomas of Citicorp, Ginny Gibson of Henley Business School, Reading University, Helena Hughes of The Instant Group, and Jackie McRobert of T Rowe Price Investments.
The appointment comes at a critical time for the network, as it seeks to further expand following the maturation of its well-respected mentoring programme, and reports experiencing a strong increase in membership during the global Covid-19 pandemic.
Dorsaint began her career in real estate finance in her native Montreal before emigrating to London in 2007. Her more than 15 years’ of professional experience includes positions with Paul Hastings and Cadwalader and Wickersham & Taft LLP.
It is expected she will assist with driving forward CREW UK’s goal of promoting inclusiveness and gender parity within the commercial law sector.
Siobhan Godley, 2021 CREW UK Chair, comments: “We are delighted that Jennie has joined the board. Her wealth of experience, as well as her own unique perspective, will help to shape our initiatives going forward, and provide valuable insight to our members and network.
“As we head into a post-pandemic world with working practices changed forever, it’s more crucial than ever that women’s voices are heard, and that they are provided with the support, connections, and tools needed to progress their careers.
“We’re constantly looking to broaden our horizons and include diverse voices, and as such, Jennie will certainly be able to put her skills to good use in helping us to achieve our objectives. We’re all very much looking forward to working more closely with her.”
Dorsaint was invited to join the board after successfully participating as a mentor of the CREW UK Connects Programme which links people in the commercial property sector and is designed to support women in overcoming barriers to progression.
She says: “I am thrilled to be able to share my key learnings from throughout my career with the wider real estate community, to help work towards CREW UK’s aims, and add value to the wider CREW Network globally.
“My area of focus is on mentorship, particularly for women and underrepresented communities in the industry – helping them to understand that there is space for them in commercial real estate and to build a more inclusive environment for all.
“As a person who is an active participant within the sector, I will also look to link CREW UK with other trade associations and networking groups within the real estate industry to help realise opportunities and share ideas more expansively.”
