Sir Trevor McDonalds Opens New LFS Headquarters
Newsreader and journalist Sir Trevor McDonald OBE joined the Mayor of Lichfield, Councillor Robert Yardley and Mayoress Jayne Marks during the opening of a new HQ building for Legionella and Fire Safe Services in Rugeley, Staffordshire.
The company, which provides legionella compliance and passive fire protection services across the UK, reported a doubling of revenue to £2.6 million between 2018 and 2020, and projects turnover of £4.2 million this fiscal year.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Sir Trevor said: “It is a great, great pleasure to be here in the presence of the Mayor and Mayoress of Lichfield and the people responsible for this enterprise. It is due, in particular to Kym Darby (business manager at Legionella and Fire Safe Services) who I worked with some years ago as it was Kym who invited me here for this occasion”
“It is great to be in the company of people who are doing well.
“All the stories I seem to hear are about people who are struggling, have gone under or have found it extremely difficult throughout this period.”
Steve Morris, Legionella and Fire Safe Services managing director, added: “It has been a remarkable journey.
“I can have the best idea for this business but without the team here it means nothing. The success of the company is down to each and every one of the people in this building, however”.
Daniel Camp, operations manager for Wates Property Services, said: “We have been working with LFS on our Birmingham City Council contract since 2016, and the service we continue to receive has been first class.
“As our requirements have grown to include Fire Safety elements, LFS have increased their offering to provide penetration sealing and fire door installations – ensuring both ourselves and our client remain compliant across the board.”
“LFS’s willingness to adapt and offer these services has led to their organic growth and we look forward to maintaining a close working relationship as they move into their new offices to accommodate the ongoing expansion.
“It equally as good to see continued local employment and opportunities.”
The new premises accommodate the company’s five divisions and include training rooms.
