Care Charity Selects Alcumus SafeContractor for Safety Certification
The Abbeyfield Society which provides housing, residential care and support to 8,000 older people in 400 family-like homes and houses in the UK and overseas with support from volunteers, has selected Alcumus SafeContractor as its health and safety accreditor.
According to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE)’s 2018/2019 annual report, some 581,000 workers sustained non-fatal injuries in the United Kingdom – many of which were sustained as a result of unsafe work practices which can be avoided with the correct education and precautions.
Richard Horn, Abbeyfield Regional Property Manager for the West Region, says:
“Joining SafeContractor is an important step for Abbeyfield West Region as it signals to our residents that we will not compromise on health and safety.
“With over 100 properties in England, The Abbeyfield Society is actively seeking more contractors to work with, but with an ever-growing number of locations, we needed to find a way to effectively monitor, manage, and make informed decisions about the companies we work with.
