Cushman & Wakefield Executive Director Marques L. Williams has been appointed to the newly created position of Tenant Representation Lead for Greater Los Angeles.

Williams will assume responsibility for local occupier business and spearhead a collaborative approach to pursuing opportunities across the Los Angeles, Inland Empire and Orange County markets.

He will report to Matt Chatham, Cushman & Wakefield’s Regional President and current acting Managing Principal for Los Angeles, who says: “Greater Los Angeles is one of the most important markets not only in the West Region but in the world, and we have so many opportunities to solidify and expand our firm’s reach in the area. With Marques’s proven track record, collaborative and team-oriented skills, knowledge of our Tenant Rep platform and vision for helping our clients navigate an ever-changing environment, we are confident his leadership and experience will make a positive impact.”

Williams adds: “I am grateful for the opportunity to step into this new leadership role, and I have a clear vision and strategy to help further advance successfully–particularly at this moment in time. Our Cushman & Wakefield Greater LA Tenant Rep team is not only among the strongest in the region; we are hyper focused on delivering quality service as our clients navigate a series of complex decisions and accelerated change.

“The opportunities for growth in LA, OC, and IE are virtually uncapped, and we will get there with understanding, increased connectivity, and holistic advisory. We understand the influence that the region has around the globe, and we will double-down on delivering top-tier service wherever our clients are in their journey.”

Williams joined Cushman & Wakefield in 2014 and has built a practice of representing highly innovative and disruptive businesses. He has successfully advised clients around the globe with various portfolio sizes, asset types and industries, specializing in media, technology, fashion, professional services, and e-commerce.

He has served as an executive member of Cushman & Wakefield’s global Tenant Advisory Group (TAG) and continues to host its ‘Third-Thursday’ meetings—a monthly series built on information exchange and thought-leadership; as well as serving as a cabinet member of the company’s Next Generation Leadership Network; a member of Cushman & Wakefield’s Future Leaders (CWFL), and also of its Blacks United in Leadership & Development (BUILD) employee resources groups.

Williams is also a board member of the Youth Business Alliance, a non-profit that introduces critical business skills to top performing high school students from underserved communities; as well as a volunteer with the Harold Robinson Foundation, the Boys & Girls Club of America, and Major League Baseball’s Urban Youth Academy.

At the beginning of his real estate career, Williams worked for BRE Properties/Essex Trust, a multifamily REIT, where he led leasing in the region. He earned a B.S. from California State University, Fullerton, and played professional baseball in the Houston Astros organization.

With Marques’s proven track record, collaborative and team-oriented skills, knowledge of our Tenant Rep platform and vision for helping our clients navigate an ever-changing environment, we are confident his leadership and experience will make a positive impact.
