Property services provider to the North West of England The Momentum Group has appointed Yvonne Emmett Cannell and Ian O’Doherty to its board in an advisory capacity.

Cannell brings extensive board-level experience across the NHS, local government and the charity sector, and a history of leading large-scale capital development projects in the North West including leisure and health hubs and Liverpool’s new specialised cancer hospital to the role.  She holds multiple non-executive director positions including Chair of the Board of Trustees at the Hospice of the Good Shepherd in Chester and Trustee of Chester Zoo.

O’Doherty comes from the financial services sector and also brings a background in hospitality. He has worked in the United Kingdom, Europe and in the United States, and is a former chief executive officer of MBNA Limited.  His current board-level positions include Non-Executive Chair of Chester Race Company and Trustee of Crewe Youth Zone, and he has previously held board member positions at UK Finance and King’s School in Chester.  In his role as the CEO of Appreciate Group, O’Doherty first met The Momentum Group’s co-founders when the company was appointed as project manager for Appreciate Group’s move from Birkenhead to Liverpool.

Based in Liverpool, The Momentum Group has grown from a team of 11 serving three clients in the city to employing 57 people who advise around 200 clients across the North West. Its 2023 turnover was approximately £7 million.
